I have always been interested in sex, intimacy, and relationships – who isn’t, right? However, I learned early on that I was much more comfortable than the average person exploring and talking about people’s sexual problems and the topic of sex and intimacy. This was intriguing to me so I eventually combined my love of talking to people about sex with my love of helping and counseling others to overcome sexual problems, relationship problems, and life challenges. I see clients in Long Beach, CA and in Huntington Beach, CA. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (80113) and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. I was also a Part-time Instructor at CSU Long Beach, CA teaching Human Sexuality Counseling.  I have a BA in Psychology, a MS in Counseling, and a MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, all from CSU Long Beach, CA.

For 5 years prior to becoming a clinician, I worked helping mainly women and couples as an Independent Romance Consultant. I conducted my initial clinical training as a Marriage & Family Therapist Trainee at the Jewish Family & Children’s Service in Long Beach, CA . There I counseled adults, couples, and children from a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. I have also trained at The LGBTQ Center in Long Beach, CA where I counseled adults, couples, and teens within the LGBTQ community. Lastly, I completed my training and experience to become a Sex Therapist at the Buehler Institute (www.thebuehlerinstitute.com) in Newport Beach, CA . There I worked with adult women and men exclusively on intimacy, couples communication, and sexual dysfunction. Before becoming a Psychotherapist, I worked as a Personal Coach and Certified Professional Development Trainer. I was certified in the “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and presented on various topics related to helping individuals develop in their professional lives.

Having been married for 17 years and having worked as an Independent Romance Consultant, I am very aware of the many sex-related challenges with which individuals and couples struggle. You are not alone – throughout the years I have heard many stories from struggling individuals who have told me “I thought I was the only one with this problem. You mean this is normal… this is common? There is hope for me?!” Whether it be a loss of desire and the difficulties intimacy or lack of intimacy brings in a relationship, difficulties related to orgasm, sex after children, or just becoming more comfortable in your own sexual skin – I will work collaboratively with you to help you create your best (sex) life with yourself and your partner.
